Attack of the Clouds!

I got off Union Station onto Front St. last night and was promptly attacked by clouds of little insects. After a few years of absence, they are back and they bite. It's something to do with the heat or humidity this year that increased their population. Next will be a wave of giant killer ladybugs!!
The reason why I was on Front St. was because I was walking to Rainbow Market Square Cinema to see S.W.A.T. Not enough action for such a movie. Ah well, win some, lose some. Don't know why Ebert and Roeper gave it two thumbs up.

Hmmm... thinking about it, I don't think they are the aphids that descended upon our city a couple of years ago. These ones were not green, as far as I could tell. And I don't think the aphids bit either.
Driver's Licence and Lining Up

"I'd like to renew my licence," I said to the guy behind the counter this morning.
My card expired almost three months ago so I hoped I was still within the grace period and wouldn't have to retake the driver's test.
He looked at my card and said, "Sorry, what did you say you'd like to do?"
He pointed to the expiry date which is for next year. DOH!
Speaking of the Driver and Vehicle Licence Office, I hear there is a huge backlog and big lineups due to The Blackout. Well, it was pretty quiet at the 137 Yonge branch.
Many people say they hate lineups while I guess most others just don't think about it. Is there anybody who actually likes to line up?
"Oh yeah, I just love to line up. It doesn't matter what I'm lining up for. I usually let people go in front of me when I'm next and then I return to the back of the line. For me, it's the experience of lining up more than what is waiting for me at the end. Yeah."
Put that in your next personal ad.

Mmmm... Is there anything as good as a fresh eggtart, hot from the oven? I bought four eggtarts along with other baked goods from Kim Moon Bakery on Dundas and I am already on my second one.

Yesterday, I had an unsuccessful foray into Ikea. The sofa bed I wanted was not in stock. I will try again Monday. Ah yes, that FightClub apartment will be mine!

Tried some new DVDs I bought on the speakers and they sound great. I'm still afraid that the bass will bother the neighbours so I may have to figure out a way to lower it. I also have to decide whether I'm going to go with
WinDVD or
PowerDVD as the software player. Right now, I'm leaning toward PowerDVD because it supports two subtitles at once, meaning that I can watch Yojimbo with both English and Chinese subtitles. A tad spendy but no, it's not better to buy a real player for that money because it wouldn't have all those features.
